Star Wars Chalmun’s Mos Eisley Cantina Story by Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to Hondo’s Hideout. In the coming weeks I will be highlighting villains from the original Mos Eisley cantina. Ben Kenobi said it best when he said “You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious”.

Over the years I have collected figures, playsets, and card backs from many of the villains inside and I’m going to get into them in depth to some degree. After I’m done with the cantina I will go right into Jabba’s Palace which may have a few overlapping characters. Here are a few pics of an original playset, a nineties cardboard display, 2000 bar sets , and a few extras of benches and tables. All of these are really cool and I’m glad I picked them up.

I guess I’ll start this show off with the one and only Wuher who was a human male from Tatooine who worked as a bartender at Chalmun’s Spaceport Cantina. Having lost his parents to battle droids during the Clone Wars, he strongly disliked droids and installed a droid detector in the cantina to keep them out. Although he was gruff he still served Luke a drink which led to his encounter with Dr Evazan, and Ponda Baba.

This was one of the greatest scenes of the franchise and right before Lucas sold the franchise to Disney he pushed out most if not all of the Cantina patrons figures. I have spent many years collecting them and I want to share my collection with all of you, so here is the first set of my pics. Make sure to check back in for more Star Wars stories and reviews.
